Retailers in the U.S. are beginning to adopt new technology that will allow accepting payment cards with EMV chips. We will be reissuing Visa Credit Cards with an EMV chip. Goldenwest members will be ready to have this added measure of security.
It's Easy
Visa Cards with Chip Technology can be used for purchases the same way you used your old Visa cards. The only difference is that retailers will require you to insert your Visa card at the payment terminals rather than swipe it.
How It Works
Step 1:
Insert card, chip first, into the bottom of the terminal.
Step 2:
Leave card in the terminal for the duration of the transaction.
Step 3:
Enter your pin or sign the signature pad.
Step 4:
Remove card after transaction has been approved.
