Goldenwest Opens Branch In West Jordan

West Jordan, UT: February 22, 2017 – Goldenwest Credit Union held a ribbon cutting and grand opening celebration on February 16, 2017 for a new branch located near the crossroads of 7800 South and 5600 West (5639 West Highlands Loop Road) in West Jordan. This is the Credit Union’s fourth Goldenwest location in Salt Lake County.

“We couldn’t be more excited to be included in such a vibrant, high-growth area,” stated Kerry Wahlen, Goldenwest President/CEO. “Great things are happening at our Credit Union throughout Salt Lake County, as we continue to expand in places such as West Jordan, and also the recent merger with Healthcare Credit Union.”

Credit Union Board Vice Chairman Steve Carroll, joined Wahlen, other Board and Supervisory Committee members, Credit Union officers, managers and employees to officially open the new branch. West Jordan City Mayor Kim Rolfe participated in the event, as did other West Jordan City officials and several representatives from the West Jordan Chamber of Commerce.

Eric Yuhas will manage all branch activity, originate mortgages and provide insurance services from the new office. Yuhas previously managed the Sandy branch located in Macey’s grocery store.

The West Jordan branch offers a high-tech approach where members can receive personal one-on-one attention as well as experience the latest technology in banking with two Personal Teller machines available for use.

Personal Teller machines are a concept similar to “self check-in” at an airport, or “self check-out” at a grocery store. The Personal Tellers are capable of many simple and routine transactions that were exclusive to traditional tellers in the past. They accept large amounts of bills or checks at once, and unlike a traditional ATM, the Personal Teller machines offer a variety of bill sizes. They also allow access to the Co-op Shared Branching network, which is a perk offered to all Goldenwest members via a quick and easy one-time enrollment.

For members who may be concerned about learning to use the Personal Tellers, the Credit Union’s staff is on-site to greet everyone who enters the branch and assist them with their transactions.

The West Jordan branch features two drive-thru teller lanes, a drive-thru ATM, and two Personal Teller machines inside of the building. The branch offers a full range of services including auto and RV loans, mortgages, insurance, free checking, and Visa cards.
