Goldenwest Hosting Health Care Reform Seminar
OGDEN, UT: May 13, 2013 – Goldenwest Credit Union is hosting a free Health Care Reform Seminar on May 24th. This symposium will provide timely information on how business owners and managers can proactively prepare for the changes and cost increases that will be associated with the Affordable Care Act. Jennifer Danielson, President of Regence BlueCross BlueShield of Utah, will be the featured speaker at this event.
With the upcoming federal mandates, many business organizations could experience a 30-50 percent premium increase in their health care costs for 2014.
During the seminar, Ms. Danielson will provide:
- An overview of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and its impact on business;
- Information regarding the ‘Pay or Play’ provision and how this may impact business;
- How to calculate a full-time employee for purposes of the ACA;
- The general drivers of the costs and fees associated with the ACA and how this may impact business; and,
- A question and answer session with Ms. Danielson and other Regence BlueCross BlueShield representatives after the presentation.
Business owners and managers are invited to attend the seminar, as well as human resource directors and others who are decision makers for health care plans and needs.
Goldenwest will hold two sessions of the seminar:
- May 24th at 9 a.m., with check-in and breakfast beginning at 8:30 a.m., or
- May 24th at 12:30 p.m., with check-in and lunch beginning at noon.

About Jennifer Danielson
President, Regence BlueCross Blue Shield of Utah
Jennifer is responsible for performance of increased membership, provider contracting and government and community relations. She directs and guides statewide operations and market performance while representing and promoting Regence in business and civic arenas throughout the state.
Jennifer was named to this position in 2012. Starting as a staff attorney with Regence in 1997, Jennifer has served as associate general counsel and assistant vice president for legislative and regulatory affairs. She has directed public policy and health information for all Regence markets, and was named Utah vice president in 2010.
Before joining Regence, she worked for the U.S. Public Health Service, the Utah Department of Health and the Utah Attorney General’s Office Health Division.
A frequent health insurance industry speaker and guest lecturer, Jennifer is also very active in the community. She serves on the Salt Lake Chamber Board of Governors, on the Economic Development Corporation of Utah’s Board of Trustees, as secretary/treasurer of the University of Utah Hospital Foundation, as a member of the Utah Foundation board of trustees, and as the Chair of the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women campaign.
