Welcome To Our Credit Union Family
March 10, 2014
Congratulations to our team members at Goldenwest and USU Credit Unions on successfully completing the operating systems merger on March 1st. This extensive, multi-faceted process began last summer when USU Credit Union members voted to merge with Goldenwest Credit Union.
It’s exciting to welcome USU Credit Union’s 17,000+ members to the Goldenwest family. We hope you take advantage of all your credit union has to offer in helping you reach your financial goals and dreams.
One of the immediate changes that USU Credit Union members experienced with the Goldenwest merger was the increase in share savings rates. Beginning in 2014, USU Credit Union members will be eligible to participate in the bonus dividend program. Over the past ten years, Goldenwest has returned $5,875,000 to members with a year-end dividend.
This strategic merger will allow USU Credit Union to provide many new and enhanced products and services to its members. I’m pleased to report that throughout this merger process we have been able to improve operational efficiencies and upgrade technology across our organization without any reductions in branches or staff.
As a MBA graduate of Utah State University, I am honored to be numbered among the Aggie alumni. We will continue USU Credit Union’s strong and abiding association with Utah State University. The branch offices we operate in Cache Valley will retain their familiar USU Credit Union brand. We invite Utah State University alumni and fans across the state to join our credit union family.
With the operating systems merger complete, Goldenwest members living in northern Utah have full access to the products and services offered at the five USU Credit Union branch locations in Box Elder and Cache Counties. Our expanded branch network now includes 26 locations in Utah and access to 5,000 shared branch offices nationwide.
Lastly, I invite you to join me for the 14th Annual Goldenwest 5K For Schools on March 29th. Register online and join us in raising funds for our schools in our community. As always, I welcome your comments on my blog posts and invite you to follow me on Twitter@GoldenwestCUCEO for the latest Goldenwest and USU Credit Union news.
