Volunteerism is the Credit Union Way
May 3, 2013
It was a pleasure meeting personally with many of our members at the Goldenwest Annual Meeting last month. During the meeting, Chairman Bill Hart announced that Stoney Wayment and Tony Reynolds were re-elected to the Board of Directors. We congratulate Stoney and Tony, and thank all of our board members for their service.
The Board of Directors is comprised of seven men and women who volunteer their time to help govern our credit union. It is important to note that the Board is elected by credit union members, and they serve without pay. The Board embraces the credit union philosophy of people helping people, and stands ready to defend our not-for-profit status. More importantly, these astute men and women represent the best interests of our 88,000 members. I work closely with our Board to develop a strategic business plan that allows our credit union to remain strong and sustain growth in a responsible manner.
We are fortunate to have a dedicated Supervisory Committee to help oversee the financial affairs of the credit union. These volunteers are appointed by the Board, and likewise serve without pay. We appreciate their many hours of service.
The 2012 reports from the Board of Directors and Supervisory Committee, along my report and the Statement of Financial Position, are available in our Annual Report.
On a different note, I’m pleased to report that members may now deposit checks via their smart phones. To access mobile deposit, download the latest version of our mobile app. Mobile deposit is just one of the many convenient and secure electronic services included with our free checking accounts.
