The Convenience of Mobile Deposit
September 10, 2014
In the constantly evolving electronic world, mobile deposit has become an instant hit with many of our members. Goldenwest introduced mobile deposit in May of 2013 and member usage has since increased by double!
Below are some great tips to keep in mind to ensure your check is accepted for deposit:
- Properly endorse the back of the check. If the check is made to two people, two endorsements must be on the back of the check.
- Place the check on a flat, dark background that won’t reflect your camera flash. Turn your camera flash off if you’re having problems with light quality.
- Make sure there is sufficient lighting in the room.
- Make sure all 4 corners of the check fall into the photo area.
- Check to see no other objects are in the photo area.
- If your image is blurry, try moving the camera a few inches higher (away from the check) so the camera can refocus.
- After taking the photo make sure the image is clear.
After verifying the funds have posted to your account, store the check in a safe place for up to 6 months. It’s a good idea to write “mobile deposit” on the check to prevent accidently resubmitting the check at a future date.
Keep in mind that third party checks are prohibited from mobile deposit, and the maximum number of mobile check deposits allowed per day is ten.
